CampusMarket, Our Story

Built by a student, for every student.

It did not start in a boardroom. It started in a dorm room, with a carload of stuff, no money, and nowhere to sell it.

Chapter 01: The Moment

"I had two days to leave campus and a couch I could not take with me."

Founder, CampusMarket

Move-out week is chaos. You have a mattress topper used once, a coffee maker still in the box, textbooks worth $300 that the bookstore buys back for $8. You are broke, stressed, and running out of time.

That was the reality that sparked CampusMarket. As a college student navigating the yearly ritual of moving in and moving out, the founder kept hitting the same wall: there was no good place to buy and sell within campus communities. Facebook groups were messy. Craigslist felt sketchy. Everything else was built for someone else.

So he built it himself. Not to start a company. Just to solve a problem he and every single person around him shared.

What started as a scrappy side project quickly became something more: a community. Students listing, buying, donating. Freshmen furnishing their first dorm. Seniors clearing out years of accumulated life. A marketplace with a heartbeat.

Chapter 02: The Journey

Year 1

The Problem

A college student stares at a couch he cannot take home and cannot sell. Two days to move out. Zero options.

Year 1

The Build

Built in a dorm room over three all nighters. No funding. No team. Just a problem worth solving and the stubbornness to solve it.

Year 2

The Community

Word spread campus-wide. Freshmen and seniors started finding each other. A marketplace with a heartbeat.

Today

The Mission

Hundreds of students. Thousands of items. One goal: make college life cheaper, greener, and safer for everyone.

Chapter 03: What We Stand For

Three reasons
CampusMarket exists.

Students First

Less Waste

Safer by Design

Chapter 04: Why It Matters

Chapter 05: The Bigger Picture

College costs too much.
We are chipping away at that.

The average student spends over $1,000 setting up their first space. That money does not have to leave the student community — it can flow from one graduating class to the next.
